Maria's Room

With your help we have now reached our target of raising £100,000 towards on room in the new Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at Birmingham Childrens Hospital.

We are so grateful for all your help and support in helping us to achieve this target in Maria's memory.

The new 6 bed Unit has cost £2M to build of which Maria's room has cost £100K.  At the beginning of October, we had £90K towards this target and thanks to the massive fundraising effort over the past 2 months, the final £10K has been raised.

All the young people featured in the Birmingham brochure are patients currently undergoing treatment.  There is also a piece dedicated to Maria at the end of the brochure.

Work is now nearing completion on the new Unit with final specifications going in now.  The Unit will be finished on 18th December, 2009 and we hope that it will be fully operational to accept new Teenage Cancer patients by March 2010.

The Unit is being built over the entrance to the Childrens A&E and is located next to Ward 6 - Childrens Oncology.
